$6.00
We might begin the homeschool journey for various reasons, but sooner or later, we all have to decide what will keep us going when the days get difficult, the budget gets tightened, a rebellious child tests our patience, or the world, and often the church, asks why we are keeping them “isolated.”
We might begin the homeschool journey for various reasons, but sooner or later, we all have to decide what will keep us going when the days get difficult, the budget gets tightened, a rebellious child tests our patience, or the world, and often the church, asks why we are keeping them “isolated.” Knowing WHY you are homeschooling is the biggest thing that will carry you through these various trials. Join John as he shares his journey from being an evolutionary agnostic to a Believer who began to embrace his calling to lead his family with a vision based on GOD’s Word.
John Heckendornhas been married to his high school sweetheart since 1986, and they have four children, two children-in-laws, one granddaughter, and a variety of critters. They started in the homeschool movement when he dragged his wife, Cathy, kicking and screaming, to their first conference in 1995. That’s all it took. They not only educated all four of their children at home, but their kids managed to graduate and become taxpaying citizens, in spite of their parents. John and Cathy now serve on the CAPE Board and enjoy speaking to support groups around the state encouraging other parents in this exciting, and often challenging, journey of homeschooling. In his free time, John enjoys studying cattle genetics, ranch chores, reading, and spending time with their ever-growing family.
