Description
The idea of homeschooling a child with special needs or learning struggles may seem overwhelming, but there is freedom when you understand that the requirements and red tape in the school systems do not apply to you. Not only can you provide consistent instruction using strategies that work for your child, but you can tailor their education based on their specific needs and interests.
Rachel Anderson has been homeschooling for 18 years. She has been married to Steve for 27 years and has been blessed with four children. Prior to homeschooling, she graduated from Cincinnati Christian University (formerly known as Cincinnati Bible College) with degrees in Music and Business. She worked in Human Resources, Information Technology Department, and as a Music Minister at her local church.
Once she had children and started to homeschool, she realized that one of her children has significant learning struggles. As a result, she has done considerable research learning how to teach the “Struggling Learner” in her family and loves to pass on her knowledge and experience to other parents looking for help.
She just recently received her master’s degree in Special Education from Grand Canyon University. Rachel travels across the US helping parents with their homeschooling journey. She has graduated three children and had been thrilled with her kids’ success as adults.
She corresponds with parents, helping guide and support them in their homeschooling journey. In her free time, Rachel loves to read and travel with her family. You can reach her at rachel.homeschooling.champion@gmail.com.
