Why Homeschool

Join or Renew Membership

There are as many different reasons as there are homeschools. Most of us started for one reason, and continue for another.

1.The Word
Most Christian homeschool families can point to the Bible for motivation, and this is a favorite verse that command parents to accept responsibility to teach and train their students on a full-time basis.

Pick a version!
Deuteronomy 6:6-9 (New King James Version)
Deuteronomy 6:6-9 (The Message)
Deuteronomy 6:6-9 (Amplified Bible)

We find it’s the most effective and efficient way to parent “in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.” (see Ephesians 6:4)

2.Relationship (Mentoring and Discipleship)
Homeschooling provides the time and energy and the atmosphere to know and enjoy our children. These are such precious years. Home can become just a pit stop in our busy lives instead of the place where the heart is. Bringing the family home together is a privilege.

3.Academic Excellence
There is plenty of statistical evidence that home education produces results that are well above average, regardless of the level of parental education, income, or other factors. Visit the National Home Education Research Institute site for details.

4. Superior Socialization

Children become loving and caring adults by living with and learning from loving and caring adults.
He who walks with the wise grows wise, but a companion of fools suffers harm.
Proverbs 13:20

5.Ultimate Responsibility
Is the state or federal government really the best equipped to raise and educate our sons and daughters? How are they doing (in general)? Whose children are they anyway?

While we appreciate and respect every educator investing in these children, and we are grateful for a system that provides for the vast majority, we are convinced that we will have to answer to God one day for the lives He entrusted to our care. Is this a job we dare to delegate? Time is so short!

We hope these five reasons will motivate you to explore the homeschool option.

There are so many more, and you will discover them one day at a time as you invest in your blessings, your heritage, our future.
