CAPE NM is an all-volunteer ministry. The CAPE Convention is planned and run by many volunteers from all over the state. We would be grateful to have you join us in this ministry. There are a variety of volunteer positions available.

Below is a list of some of our Volunteer positions. Although we can usually use extra help in each area, the teams that need the most help are noted to the side. Click each link to read a description of the committee. To VOLUNTEER for any of these positions (except the teen runners) please click HERE. During the application process, you will be asked which committee you would like to work with.

Convention volunteer opportunities
Convention Coordinator – We are looking for a dependable person to be our new Coordinator
This person would work under the guidance of the CAPE-NM Board to oversee the convention planning, lead meetings, collect and share reports from each committee, and other tasks as assigned.
This committee handles the advertisements for the Convention program.
Exhibit Hall – This committee could use a new Coordinator
This committee coordinates the Vendors for the annual convention in June.
This committee oversees the setting-up and tearing-down before and after convention and coordinates with Legacy.
This committee are the greeters for everyone coming into and out of the convention buildings. They also help with general directional questions.
This committee makes sure all the volunteers, speakers, sponsors, and Legacy staff have meals, snacks, and a place to unwind and rejuvenate during the convention.
This committee receives all the inputs from various committees, does the layouts and creates the convention program.
This committee handles the recording of the convention sessions and makes them available for sale at convention and loads them onto our website store for purchase.
This committee coordinates all the details for registering for the annual convention, along with making name badges, and other tasks.
This committee is the hands and feet of our convention. They help with set-up, clean-up and tear-down. They help vendors and attendees load and unload their merchandise. The teen Runners (click HERE to apply for this position) do most of the hand-on moving work. They are divided into groups which are led by Runner Supervisors. All the supervisors report to the Runner Coordinator, who handles the overall coordinate with other committees and the Legacy staff.
These individuals/couples are paired with guest speakers for our convention. They do things like pick them up from the airport, take them to and from their hotels, make sure they get to their workshops/meals on time, as well as other tasks as assigned.
This committee makes sure all the audio/visual needs are set-up for the workshops and sessions during the convention. They also handle the signage for the convention and other events for CAPE.
This committee reaches out to all the other committees to assess the volunteer needs for each team. Then they work to place the applicants in the committees that need help.
This committee provides Worship during our annual convention – to help us direct our attention to the Lord before we start out our convention day.
Other volunteer opportunities
This committee coordinates the CAPE @ the Capitol event, held in February each year during the legislative session.
Graduation – This committee could use an assistant Coordinator
This committee coordinates the Graduation Recognition Ceremony at Legacy in May each year.
This committee will help promote CAPE-NM and how they can help homeschoolers in New Mexico.
This committee plans and executes events for the homeschool communities of New Mexico.
This committee receives prayer requests from various places and is committed to praying for each need.
Social Media – This committee could use a new Coordinator
This coordinator helps to share articles and events that tell what’s going on with CAPE on our social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, X, etc.)
This committee helps to reach out and find homeschool groups throughout the state that CAPE can support. Ideally, the state is divided into regions which is managed by a Regional Representative, who reports to the Coordinator, who manages the database for the state.
