Deanne Smith grew up in Colorado. While attending Milligan College in northeast Tennessee, she met her wonderful husband. They have three fabulous children who are 23, 21, and 14. Providentially, she had the opportunity to attend an IEW teacher-training course in the summer of 2006. It resonated with her immediately. Since then, she has been teaching IEW’s method in some form, becoming an instructor at the Certified Level in 2010, and renewing her accreditation recently. She was blessed to further her training by attending IEW’s Writing Educator’s Symposium in July 2010. In 2018, she was invited to become a Regional Exhibitor for IEW, and she loves telling people about this exceptional program at homeschool conferences. Currently she has the privilege of teaching IEW’s Structure and Style method at a University Model School in Denver, Colorado.
