CAPE annually sponsors CAPE at the Capitol, a day when home school families from all across New Mexico convene in Santa Fe at the state capitol building, known as The Roundhouse, to celebrate Home Education Week in New Mexico and to meet and greet state legislators. This annual assembly is our opportunity to bring the face of home schooling to New Mexico's leaders, to remind them that we take our citizenship seriously, and to express sincerely our appreciation for the public service of these citizen legislators.
We urge you to consider attending! Christian home educators are still swimming upstream, a counter-cultural movement serving God in an alien and sometimes hostile world. To most effectively occupy until He comes, we need to raise our standard high. Join fellow home school families raising that banner in Santa Fe, NM. We aren't recruiting activists or seeking politicians. We are looking for home schooling families willing to serve the home school community by being good citizens.

WHO: Home school families from around the state. Legislators need to know home school constituents (Voters are their friends!), not just the CAPE board.

For the kids - tour the Roundhouse, learn about New Mexico history and government.
For future generations - take a prayer walk and ask God to intervene in the affairs of men.
WHEN: Early February! Exact date to be posted soon. 2009 will mark the THIRTEENTH consecutive year. Start time is at 9:00 AM. The meeting will be posted later. Please check back later. Please remember to leave plenty of time for parking! The first full week in February marks Home Education Week, and also New Mexico TEENPACT.
